Professional Gamblers Pick the Best Gambling Web Sites

Best Internet casino software review

Best Casino Bonuses Online

Back when I started Blackjack Forum in 1981, I had a vision for it. There were lots of other gambling periodicals at the time, but nothing that lived up to my vision of what a gambling periodical could be. I started Blackjack Forum because it was the publication I wanted to read, and nobody else out there was publishing anything like it. The times have changed, but the situation has not. There are a lot of blackjack Web sites on the Internet, but not the site I want. Like my dad used to say, "If I want anything done right around here, I've got to do it myself."

What you can expect from this site is a new issue of Blackjack Forum (free) whenever the editor (me) and the writers and reporters (professional gamblers, attorneys, industry people, and mathematicians) have time to get one together. This will occur roughly every spring, summer, fall, and winter GST (Gamblers Standard Time). Which means that, since we have no deadlines or printing and mailing schedules, if we get a hot article, we're going to put it up right away.

You can expect message boards for in-depth discussion between players who are looking for an edge at gambling and good deals from casinos. You will find links to the best gambling books in print, other worthwhile gambling web sites, and the most reliable Internet poker rooms, sports books, and casinos.

And you will find the undisputed best library of gambling articles and information on the web. Expect about 100 more articles to arrive over the year to come.

Why the Discussion Boards are "Moderated"

The primary reason we moderate our discussion boards is to protect the users from those who would abuse the forum. If someone is spamming the board with advertisements for a gambling system they are selling, we can delete these irritating posts and disable the spammerís password if the abuse continues. All public message boards have these types of problems occasionally.

More importantly, some questions and comments, though topical, are dangerous to discuss on a public forum. Remember that many of the participants here are professional and semi-professional players. There is no practical way to keep casino personnel off of a public discussion board, so we must always assume that they are here. In fact, we invite casino personnel who are interested in contributing to our discussions to do so. We are interested in their views. However, we must be careful to avoid educating casino personnel in the methods of professional players.

That doesn't mean we can't discuss a lot of things. There are so many books on card counting available, for example, that it would be silly for us to pretend that casinos know nothing about it.

If you are interested in discussing sensitive information about players' methods and issues, please contact me about joining our Players Only forum.

The Kinds of Posts that would be Improper Here

Many card counters make the mistake of posting detailed "trip reports" on public blackjack message boards. Casinos can use these reports to identify the card counters and bar them from future play. This has, in fact, occurred to numerous players.

But itís even worse to describe details about another playerís actions in a casino, or to describe or ask questions about the techniques he or she may have been using. Although the questioner may truly be seeking information, it is harmful to other players and not proper fodder for public discussion.

Blackjack message boards that allow this type of post are doing players a serious disservice. We are not a surveillance snitch service here. Our interest on this board is to help players, not casinos, and to protect playersí interests. Most questions can be asked without revealing your identity, the identity of others, or sensitive information on playing techniques.

Other than that, ask any question or make any comment you want, though most of the discussion that you see here will focus on the concerns of serious and professional gamblers of all types who play with an edge. This board is moderated, which means that questions and comments that are clearly outside the realm of interest may be deleted by one of the moderators. The intent at Blackjack Forum Online is to be as loose as possible with this policy. ♠
